    Minutes, reports, programs, correspondence, personal files of members and staff of the Association, as well as candidates applying for membership. These materials contain information related to the pre-and-postwar life of individual persons. Also included are financial files, such as preliminary budgets, approved budgets and cash reports, as well as other financial documents. The last part consists of records of the Jewish Theater Council.

  4. Henryk Chęciński photograph collection

    The collection contains 45 photographs taken by amateur photographer Henryk Chęciński in Nazi-occupied Warsaw, Poland, circa 1939-1940. Subjects include bombed buildings, makeshift graves, German soldiers, Polish soldiers, German soldiers marching groups of Jewish men in the street, three hanging men in front of a crowd, and people in the street.

  8. Cyprus photo album

    Album of 16 photographs from internment camps in Cyprus. Includes images presenting daily life in the camps; the dining hall; the workshops, including the amateur stone chiselers presenting the stone works they have created in the camp; and a a puppet theater. The inner side of the front binding is mounted with a photographic postcard bearing the Hebrew inscription "Souvenir from the Cyprus Exile 5709." On the front binding is a chisled stone plaque with image of the ship at sea, barbed wire, and the Hebrew inscription "Kafrisin 5708" [Cyprus 1948].

  10. Tadeusz Januchta letter

    One letter, dated 12 December 1943, sent by prisoner Tadeusz Januchta, from the Auschwitz concentration camp, to his wife, Zinaida, in Kielce, Poland. In the letter, Januchta reports to his wife that he had received her previous letter, had received a package the previous day, and that while packages have been arriving, she should pay attention to regulations about sending photographs, and not to send him any further money. He closes by sending Christmas and New Year's greetings to his wife and daughter.

    Photographs (two albums, two loose photographs) and certificate from the Deutscher Makkabikreise, 1938, both related to Ursula Kantorowicz (later Nelson), documenting her childhood in Germany and young-adult years as an emigre in England. Photograph albums include images of Nelson's parents and relatives in Germany, childhood friends, her life in Britain after emigration, including her friends and work, and her first husband, Leslie Smith.

    Collection of documents, newspapers and correspondence concerning the Union Générale des Israélites de France [UGIF], for whom Leon Buchholz (donor's great uncle) worked during World War II. Included in the collection is almost a complete weekly newspaper series issued by the UGIF entitled "Bulletin," as well as correspondence received by the UGIF, unused stationary for the American Joint Distribution Committee, receipts of packages sent from UGIF, and reports of Viennese Jewish Community and deportees.

  17. Selected records from the Sigtuna Foundation in Sweden

    Records from a hospital, set up in Sigtuna, Sweden, in 1945, which cared for about 1200 patients who had been released from the Bergen Belsen concentration camp.
