    The Charles Keller papers include two photographs of Charles Keller and a Third United States Army memorandum quoting the orders of General George S. Patton directing members of the Army to bury victims of Nazi atrocities reverently.   5. Rachel Levin collection

    Contains letters, with envelopes, from Rachel Levin and her daughter, Hannah Narwitch, in Raguva, Lithuania to Pesia Phyllis Levin Costell (donor's mother) in the United States. In the letters, Rachel describles her husband's (Moyshe Levin) illness and death, the progress of the war, and requested affidavits of support for the family ("kartechke"). Includes photographs which belonged to Phyllis Levin created c. 1941 in Raguva; Phyllis had left Lithuania 1928 for Canada and then came to the US in 1939.

  6. Primo Levi manuscript collection

    The Primo Levi manuscript collection consists of the typescript text of a working draft of Primo Levi's original manuscript Se questo è un Uomo [If This Is a Man], which recounted his experiences as a prisoner at Auschwitz, and was later published as Survival in Auschwitz. Contains handwritten corrections and additions in red pencil; and includes 10 of the 17 chapters that were eventually included in the final publication. Many of the texts conclude with the date on which they were written, along with Levi’s name.

  7. Felix Rosenthal papers

    The collection includes typescript memoirs and essays written by Felix Rosenthal describing his childhood in Germany, his emigration from Germany in 1933, his stay in Italy and eventual immigration to the United States, and his service in the United States Army as a “Ritchie Boy” during World War II. The collection also contains other essays and reflections from Felix’s experiences in the Army, including during his time serving with occupation forces in Germany from 1945-1947.
