  3. Josef and Ruth Rosenberg papers

    The collection primarily documents the post-war experiences of Josef and Ruth Rosenberg, both of whom were from Poland, interned in the Łódź ghetto, and liberated from the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp where they met and later married. The collection includes identification papers, immigration documents, restitution claims paperwork, and photographs taken at Bergen-Belsen from 1945-1947 along with some pre-war family photographs.   5. Plesser family collection

    Contains correspondence from Mendel and Perla Pepi Plesser in Hamburg Altona, the Zbąszyń area for expelled Polish citizens, and later in Stanisławów, addressed to their children Klara (b. December 14, 1921 [donor's mother]) and Oskar (b. May 29, 1920 [donor's maternal uncle]), who had arrived in the US on August 22, 1938.

  6. Sarolta Planer Lowy collection

    Contains two documents issued to "Sarolta" Planer Lowy in Erdóbėnye, Hungary. One document details and value of personal possessions being confiscated from various people, dated 1943. The second document legally explains and justifies the dispossession of property belonging to the Jewish community in Hungary, specifcally in Erdóbėnye, based on 1939 dictate and details numerous property owners, including Sarolta (donor's grandmother).

    The collection documents the pre-war and wartime experiences of Samuil Manski and his family in Lida, Poland (modern day Lida, Belarus). The collection primarily contains pre-war photographs of Samuil, his extended family, and friends. Also included is Samuil’s visa obtained through Chiune Sugihara, the Japanese consul in Kaunas, Lithuania; postcards from Japan; and Samuil’s report cards.
