  2. Records pertaining to the expropriation of property belonging to Sigmund Freud's sisters

    Contains documents pertaining to the systematic expropriation of Sigmund Freud's sisters' assets by the Nazis, including the plundering of a trust fund set up for the sisters' benefit by their brother, Alexander Freud. Also includes documents from the 1960's and 70's related to a restitution effort.

  3. Mary Hrabowska papers

    The papers consist of a false identification card ("Kennkarte") (two of three parts) issued to "Maria Szmigielska" [donor] from Zegota while she was in hiding. The Kennkarte was issued by the German police office in occupied Warsaw, Poland, and the donor received it through Zegota after escaping the Warsaw ghetto. The papers also include a photograph of Kolo Studentow Zycie (Circle of Jewish Students) in 1948 in Warsaw.

    An American serviceman holds a slate that identifies the cameraman as Daniel and the date as November 30, 1943. US Army and Naval officers enter and exit a brick building guarded by MP's. The building appears to be part of a US military compound in the desert. 01:53:28 Soviet soldiers drill on the grounds of the Soviet embassy, where the Teheran conference was held. American miltiary cameramen film them. Shots of Joseph Stalin posing for the cameras with other conference participants. This material does not correspond to the description on the NARA story card.

  7. Ticho family papers

    The Ticho family papers include a hand-delivered letter from Adela and Vilem Ticho delivered by hand to their friend Anna Weinrebová describing events transpiring during the Holocaust in Czechoslovakia. The papers also include two death notices printed after World War II for Vilem Ticho and for Rudy and Pepik (sons of Vilem and Adela Ticho) who perished in the Holocaust.

    The collection consists of seven photographs taken by Bina Cohen Spielman's father in Warsaw, Poland, before World War II and documents the experiences of the Cohen family before the Holocaust.

  11. Rabbi Jeheil Lefkowitz and Rabbi Jacob Aaron Lefkowitz letters

    Consists of one letter written by Rabbi Jeheil Lefkowitz in 1936, in which he accepts a position as principal of a Hebrew school, and one letter by Rabbi Jacob Aaron Lefkowitz, undated, in which he requests financial aid from the Jewish community since he is a teacher and this brings him no income. Both Rabbi Jeheil Lefkowitz and Rabbi Jacob Aaron Lefkowitz lived in Łodź, Poland, before World War II and were imprisoned in the Łódź ghetto. While the fate of Rabbi Jeheil Lefkowitz is unknown, Rabbi Jacob Aaron Lefkowitz perished in the ghetto on May 8, 1942.

    This collection includes approximately 12,000 personal case files containing information on Jews trying to immigrate to Australia as well as family search files from the Archives of the Australian Jewish Welfare and Relief Society (AJWRS) (now Jewish Care) between 1946 and 1954.     Consists of photographs and documents related to Alfred and Trude Kahn and their daughter, Annemarie, originally of Stuttgart, Germany. In the 1930s, the family fled from Germany to Holland, where they lived until their deportation to Theresienstadt on April 21,1943. The family perished in Auschwitz. The collection consists of Alfred and Trude's honeymoon album, an engraved cigarette case from the wedding, a book of Annemarie's baby photographs, and a letter sent by the Kahns the day before their deportation.
