  1. Hennoch Henry Hochman letter

    The letter was written by Hennoch Henry Hochman [donor's maternal great uncle] in Łódź, Poland, to Abe [Abram] Stern [donor's father] in which he discusses World War II and his hope for things to calm down and for peace to come quickly.

  2. Agro-Joint colony of Sverdlov

    Intertitles provide information about the Sverdlov colony. MS of milling herd of cattle. EXT and INT of Sverdlov knitting factory. Note electrical lines outside. Sewing machines and men demonstrating work. One man holds a shawl (large light bulb in FG of shot).

  3. Válas family collection

    Consists of the April-June 1944 correspondence of the Válas family and a 1945 document written by the donor's mother about the early start of the deportations of the Jews from Alsógöd (Hungary, 8km north of Budapest). Collection includes typed transcripts of the documents and a note written by the donor about the family relationship of people mentioned in the correspondence.

  4. "The Romanian Jews During W.W. II"

    Consists of one manuscript, 46 pages, entitled "The Romanian Jews During W.W.II," by Neha Weinstein Voigt, originally of Iasi, Romania. In the manuscript, Weinstein describes the history of the Holocaust in Romania, including the destruction of Iasi's Jews. Also includes a folder of clippings and letters regarding Mrs. Voigt's Holocaust experiences and photographs of Mrs. Voigt and of her parents.

  5. Jeffrey Cymbler photographs

    Consists of family photographs from the collection of Jeffrey Cymbler. Includes photographs of the Cymbler family in pre-war Be̜dzin, photographs of the Leizorek family, who immigrated from Be̜dzin to Buenos Aires in 1940, and photographs of war-torn Be̜dzin.     Series 1-4 of the David Rosenberg papers include documents, correspondence, clippings, videotapes, and photographs related to the work of David Rosenberg and the Committee for Appropriate Acknowledgment (CAA).   9. Czeisler and Paszor families papers

    The papers consist of three documents and 11 photographs relating to the life of Gyorgy Czeisler (George Levoy; donor's husband) who worked at the Swedish embassy in Budapest, Hungary, as a driver and on occasion worked with Raoul Wallenberg. The documents include a certificate of Gyorgy Czeisler's employment with the Swedish embassy signed by Wallenberg, a request for his examption from wearing a Star of David badge, and his Swedish Schutzpass. Also included are photographs of the Czeisler and Paszor [donor's] families and experiences in Hungary during the Holocaust.

    Contains records of interrogations of suspected war criminals by the investigative branch of the Hungarian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Hungarian Police State Protection Department (Magyar Államrendőrség Államvédelmi Osztálya, ÁVO), and later by the independent Agency for State Security State Protection Authority, (Államvédelmi Hatóság, ÁVH), primarily confessions and witness testimonies.

    The Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter-Partei (NSDAP) membership booklet was issued to Leopold Kocher of Tamsweg, Austria, in June 1941.

  14. Funeral for SA men at which Goebbels speaks.

    The cortege and funeral of three SA men: Walter Apel, Robert Gleuel, and Franz Klein, who were purportedly shot and killed by members of the Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD) in June 1933. People are shown laying flowers at the location of the murder in Berlin-Köpenick. The funeral cortege leaves the hospital and passes crowds of mourners, who line the street and give a Hitler salute to the passing hearses.     Consists of a five page excerpt from the oral history of Julia Pirotte regarding her memories of the 1946 pogrom in Kielce, Poland. Ms. Pirotte went to Kielce as a journalist and photographer and describes the photographs she took of the violence.
