Document contains 17 adhesive stamps, in the amount of 1 Reichmark or 50 pfennigs, with representations on each stamp of various Jewish themes, such as festivals and holidays, and the names of patriarchs.

    Consists of typescript texts of seven poems and song lyrics written by Manfred Greiffenhagen while he was imprisoned in the Theresienstadt concentration camp, plus one text attributed to Leo Strauss. The typed texts are entitled "Marsch der Kadermaedel," "Die Juden on Bergen-Belsen," "Transport," "Die Ochsen," "Ich singe tief..," "Es War Einmal," and "Kasernenlied." Also includes a poem entitled "Als ob-," which was written by Leo Strauss. Some of the lyrics list that music has been written by Martin Roman.

    Contains personal files of Polish citizens of Jewish origin residing in Egypt, as well as records relating to the emigration of Jews to Palestine (report from 1938), and a newspaper, “La Tribune Juive,” of September 22 1937 (an issue about ethnic minorities).

    Consists of a bound manuscript of clippings, transcripts, and articles related to the life of Walter J. Rockler, who was a prosecutor at Nuremberg. Includes information and articles related to his experiences in the Pacific during World War II, his work at Nuremberg, and his later critiques of American foreign policy and of the prosecution of war crimes. Also includes the transcript of an oral history which Jeffrey Burt conducted with Walter Rockler in December 2001.

    Concentration camp uniform pants issued to Max Rottenberg while imprisoned at Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany in 1944 and 1945. Max, his parents, Albert and Anna, and sisters, Illus, Elisabet, Erna, Erzsebet, and Bozsi, lived in Dés, in the Transylvania region of Austria-Hungary (now Dej, Romania). Between February 1938 and August 1941, Max and his sisters, Elisabet and Ilus, relocated to Spišská Stará Ves, Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia).   14. Testimony regarding Kristallnacht and Dachau

    Consists of one typed testimony, 10 pages, unsigned, written most likely in late 1938 or 1939, by an anonymous author, regarding the experiences of the author after being arrested on Kristallnacht and imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp. The author describes the Gestapo search of his apartment, his arrest, and gives extensive detail about life in Dachau at this time. Wendy Wallace [donor] found this testimony in the home of Miss Mundell Doolittle.

    The Vollweiler family collection consists of identity documents, family history materials, and correspondence related to the Vollweiler family, originally of Heidenheim, Germany. Justin Vollweiler was arrested on Kristallnacht in 1938 and imprisoned in the Dachua concentration camp. He was able to immigrate to the United States after his release.     Consists of photographs taken or given to Cloyd Lewis Hershberger, a member of the 45th Tank Battalion of the 13th Armored Division of the Third Army. The images depict the liberation of Buchenwald, the aftermath of summary justice, the destruction of various buildings and the buildings at Berchtesgaden.

  19. Kleinberg family papers

    The Kleinberg family papers comprises postcards and letters written between the members of the Kleinberg family from 1939 until 1945. The majority of the correspondence is between the Kleinberg siblings and their immediate families, with the many of the letters coming from Zofia Minder in Krakow and Lola Schifeldrim, a close family friend who worked for Irena’s husband, Ferdynand Keiner and assisted Roman’s wife and daughters.
