  3. Dwora Zofia Mortenfeld papers

    The papers consist of three portrait images of Netka Putersznyt and Berisz Putersznyt, Dwora Zofia Mortenfeld's parents, and Frymeta Mortenfeld, Dwora's mother-in-law. Also included in the papers is a postcard written by Netka Putersznyt in ghetto in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, on December 24, 1942, to her daughter Zosia Putersznyt who was interned in Ober Altstadt concentration camp.

    Consists of ten photographs taken upon the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp. Photographs depict survivors and the Dachau camp grounds. These photographs are donated in memory of Captain Leon Strauss, who took the photographs.

    The letter was written to Rose Levinson in Chicago, Ill., by her niece, Reska Katz, and Reska's daughter, Vera Katz, in a displaced persons camp in Trenčín, Czechoslovakia. They write of family members who survived and those who perished and ask for sweets and vitamins for Vera and clothing.

  7. Dr. Sándor Vig memoir

    Consists of a memoir, 131 pages, detailing the Holocaust experiences of Dr. Sándor Vig, originally of Slovakia. Dr. Vig kept a very descriptive daily account of his experiences in a Hungarian forced labor battallion, and wrote this memoir using those notes after the war. The memoir is available in both Hungarian and Hebrew versions.

  8. Records of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Political Department (MOL K 63)

    The collection contains selected records relating to Hungarian foreign relations and policies. Includes reports submitted in 1944 by Hungarian diplomatic missions in Arad (Oradea), Bucharest, and Brasov (Brassó) in Romania to the Foreign Ministry in Budapest about incidents concerning Jews; a speech of the priest Áron Márton at St. Michael's Church, May 1944, condemned the prepared deportation of Romanian and Hungarian Jews; also contains Hungarian German press article and clippings.

    The Steven N. Montrose papers consist of photographs depicting Montrose (born Nathan Rozenberg) and his parents and other relatives in prewar and wartime Łódź and postwar Germany. The collection also includes birth and naturalization certificates for Montrose and his father and a book proposal for an autobiography by Montrose describing his prewar and wartime life in Łódź, the Łódź ghetto, concentration camps, postwar Germany, immigration to the United States, and new life in America.

    The papers consist of correspondence, documents, identification cards, and a notebook containing pieces of coupons and ration cards that relate to the experiences of Fanny Herman, donor, and her family during their pre-World War II life in Belgium, during their time in hiding in the south of France, and during their escape to Switzerland.
