    The entire family gathers into a horse-drawn carriage and travels along a road, probably in Jaremcze or Stanislawow. The background is very dark, but appears to be fields. Scene shifts to Hanna (much older now) playing in a woodpile, trying to create a teeter-totter with some other children.

    The collection consists of one wartime portrait of the family of Heinrich and Else Steffens of Bottrop, Germany. In the portrait, Heinrich and Else pose with their son, Fritz, in a Nazi naval uniform and holding their infant daughter, Liesel. The family posed in front of a portrait of Adolf Hitler. There is an accretion of one photograph of the Meyer family of Bottrop.     The collection consists of minutes of the meetings of the TsVaad ‘s Executive Council, declarations and circular letters regarding Jewish pogroms in Poland and Galicia, correspondence with Jewish communities and public organizations regarding evacuation of Jewish civilians from the zones of war conflict, food supplies for refugees and other needs of the evacuated Jewish population. Collection also includes various newspaper clippings, drafts of articles and questionnaires.

    Hanna plays with a very small wagon. Around her neck is some kind of purse. She puts many things in the wagon, and then walks around pulling it. She runs into another girl. Benedikt holds his daughter. Grandfather Sperber (older man with beard) hugs Thomas. Hanna gives Thomas a kiss, and then they play. The car drives past, they look on in wonderment. They walk up to the car with a nurse, and get in. Cut to the children in a wash basin taking a bath. They both splash wildly and play with sticks.

    Consists of correspondence and newspaper and magazine articles related to the resistance and rescue efforts of the citizens of San Donato Val di Comino, Italy. Includes a copy of "Newton" [MA] magazine, which includes a feature article about the town, Italian newspaper articles with English translations, and correspondence with family members of those who saved Jews.

  15. Curt and Irene Sachs travel documents

    Consists of two German passports ("Reisepaesse") issued to Irene Lewin Sachs and Curt Sachs. Irene Lewin Sachs was born in Berlin in August 31, 1888; the passport, which includes a photograph, was issued on March 9, 1937. Curt Sachs was born in Berlin on June 29, 1881; the passport was issued on April 22, 1937. Curt Sachs was a prominent musicologist. Curt and Irene Sachs immigrated to the United States in 1937.
