  1. Esther Fox papers

    Consists of certificates, reference letters, and some photos documenting Esther Fox's (formerly Dr. Ester Nysenhaus) experience as a doctor in the Łódź ghetto and her service as a physician in the United States after 1949. Also includes her writings on her experiences and their English and Swedish translations

  2. Court of the First Instance in Miechów Sąd Grodzki w Miechowie (Sygn. 1847)

    Court files in civil and criminal matters in which one of the parties was a person of Jewish origin. Post-war materials regarding real estate owned by Jews, applications for correction or reconstruction of birth, death or other documents.

  3. Katz family photograph collection

    Comprised of photographs, photographic postcards, and copy prints documenting the experiences of Chaim (Sam), Miriam, and Bella Katz during the time period surrounding the Holocaust. Chaim and Miriam survived multiple concentration camps, while their daughter Bella survived living in hiding with Gerard and Teuntje Satduwe, Dutch resistors living in Hilversum, Holland.

  4. Servator family correspondence

    Primarily consists of envelopes and letters written between members of the Servator family in 1945. Includes correspondence between Morris and Helen Servator and Cpl. Emanuel Sevator regarding their cousin Ida Szymkowicz, her husband Joseph, and their son Maurice, in addition to a note and photo of Ida and Maurice. Also includes a letter from Ida Szymkowicz to David Servator regarding Emanuel's visit.

  5. 1933 Reichstag election material

    A bound collection of printed, German-language materials relating to the March 5, 1933 Reichstag election in Germany. The dated materials range from January to March 5, 1933, though many are undated. They include portions of text from newspapers and magazines, as well as some advertising materials and smaller propaganda pieces. At the back, an oversize propaganda poster has been folded numerous times to make it fit within the book. All the pieces are bound between hard, black covers, and the front cover bears a handwritten label, “Material Reichstagswahl 5. Marz 1933”.

  6. Ery Magasanik collection

    Consists of US naturalization certificates, identification documents such as Iranian passports and "Shenasnameh," or Iranian identity booklets similar to birth certificates, for the donors' parents, Michael (b. 1900) and Judith Magasanik (nee Bromberg, b. 1908) who left Bucharest in 1940 using the Iranian passports they obtained in the late 1920s as citizens of Iran. They eventually immigrated to the Miami and then settled in New York in 1942.

  7. Hannah Berkowitz collection

    Includes family photos and documents, travel documents, restitution-related papers, and a transcript of an oral history with Eva Berkowitz, the donors' mother, that captures Eva's experiences in the ghetto in Irshava and then in Auschwitz, where she was incarcerated until July 1944, and then sent to work in German ammunition factories in Gelsenkirchen and Essen.

  8. Shapell family photograph collection

    The collection consists of photographs documenting German-occupied Oświęcim, Poland, circa 1940-circa 1941, and refugees living in the Münchberg, Germany, displaced persons camp, circa 1946. The photographs of Oświęcim include depictions of buildings, Jewish men forcibly having their beards and sidelocks (peyot) cut off, street scenes, and Jews clearing snow under the presence of a German soldier. Included are undated typed captions in Polish, and English translations of the captions produced in 2013.   9. Reichstag election campaign materials

    Consists of two bound collections of printed campaign materials relating to the September 14, 1930 and July 31, 1932 Reichstag elections in Germany. The materials include clippings from newspapers and magazines as well as some illustrated advertisements, small propaganda pieces, and political cartoons. Both volumes are labeled "Material Reichstagswahl" with their corresponding dates.

  13. Craft Chamber in Kielce Izba Rzemieślnicza w Kielcach (Sygn. 415)

    Lists of voters for the Chamber of Crafts and other records of that organization - they contain personal data, profession, address. The personal file of Jewish candidates for an examination in a particular craft - in alphabetical order. Include: photograph of the applicant, examination report, application for admission to the examination, CV, copy of birth certificate, copy of the permanent population register, certificate stating the studies completed, and other correspondence.

  14. School Inspectorate in Kielce Inspektorat Szkolny w Kielcach (Sygn. 321)

    A survey on the state of legal and underground education during the occupation - schools by locality. Pupils' handwritten essays on occupation and their drawings on the same topic. In addition, information about the losses of libraries and other cultural institutions in the Kielce county during the war.

    Files of civil cases from the period of World War II of people of Jewish origin (inheritance and division of property).

  16. Leuwenkroon family collection

    The collection documents the prewar and wartime experiences of Isy Leuwenkroon (1920-2006) and his wife Lilly Lieba Brenig Leuwenkroon (b. 1926) in Belgium and France through twenty prewar family photographs, Isy and Lilly's wedding certificate, correspondence, and other documents such as permits and apartment leases. Additionally included is the couple's memoir titled "Jews Rescuing Jews During WWII: Isy and Lilly Leuwenkroon", which was written for the Library's memoir project.

  17. Cardozo family photographs

    Consists of photographs capturing the experiences of the Cardozo family before and during the war, including images such as a meal featuring David Lopes Cardozo and others wearing visible Star of David badges on their clothing, portraits of David's sons, Raphael and Max Lopes Cardozo, who perished in Terezin in 1944, and the wedding portrait of Julia Hendrika Lopes Cardozo and Yoel (Wolf) Strosberg in Antwerp, Belgium.

  18. Lobsenz family papers

    Consists of correspondence between extended Lobsenz (formerly Lubzens) relatives in Poland, the Warsaw ghetto, and Łódź ghetto, and loved ones in the United States, including the donor's father, Jack Lobsenz, who immigrated to the US from Lipno, Poland in 1920. Also includes a photo in a portfolio, photographic postcards, a money order receipt, an envelope, and a certificate.
