  1. Relocation of displaced persons

    INT, processing center for IRO (International Relief Organization). Families line up at desks where young men and women review their identity papers, create new documents, and arrange for them to emigrate to North America (Canada, United States), and various countries in South America. They are fingerprinted as well. VS, CUs of the refugees talking to the IRO workers.   2. Anna Rosenberg family photographs

    Contains four photographs of the wedding of Karola Winiecki and Mayer Kopytko in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1946. Karola Winiecki is a survivor of the Krushin, Pionko, Auschwitz, and Malchow camps, and Mayer Kopytko is a survivor of the Demblin ghetto and workcamp, then escaped and survived in the woods of Poland from 1942-1945.

  3. German siege of Warsaw, Poland, Sept. 1939

    CU of a man blowing a warning whistle, cut to a large statue of a mermaid wielding a shield and a sword, an unidentified bridge and the Vistula River are visible in the BG. Cut to MCU of the statue, then to a LS of the deserted banks of the river, train tracks run directly along the river banks, and there are empty, open-topped train cars. VS of this plaza and mermaid statue near the riverport- one car rides on the road around the statue, but the area is basically deserted.

  4. Sirman family collection

    Collection consists of three photographs: one of a wedding portrait, and two of a man in a concentration camp uniform. The collection also contains one booklet in German, published by the Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Forces, showing photographs and describing the history and conditions of the camps of Ohrdruf, Buchenwald, Belsen, Gardelegen, and Nordhausen.

  5. Abraham Getman photographs

    A collection of 83 photographs relating to the experiences of Abraham (Avram) Getman and his family during the period immediately following the Holocaust. The collection includes images of refugee camps in St. Marein and Admont in Austria and images of the donor's emigration from Austria to Israel in 1948.

    This collection contains records on internees in the Noé, Récébédou, Vernet, and Brens camps. Records include name, date and place of birth, and (occasionally) date of internment. The collection also includes information about the administration of the camps; arrests and deportations; the Commissariat for Jewish Affairs; and legislation concerning Jews and Freemasons.
