    The papers consist of six photographs documenting the experiences of Fajwel Sendrowicz in Osjaków, Poland, before World War II and after his immigration to Canada in 1948. Also includes his Certificate of Identity (1952), his certificate of Canadian citizenship (1955), a copy of a confirmation letter of his status in Canada (1950), and his United States green card (1959).

    Interview with the "well-known radio reporter" Doug Brinkley about "atrocity propaganda" (reaction against the Nazi boycott of Jewish businesses) in the United States. Doug Brinkley traveled extensively in Germany from 1932-1934 and wrote a pro-Nazi book titled "An American Sees the New Germany." The interview takes place outside. The interviewer asks his questions in German and Brinkley responds in English.   5. Zygielbojm bibliographic and research materials

    Consists of photocopies, translations, speeches, and articles about the life, death, and memory of Shmuel "Artur" Zygielbojm, a member of the Polish government-in-exile in London, who committed suicide in 1943 in hopes of bringing the world's attention to the plight of the Jews of Poland. Dr. Aliza Kolker of George Mason University compiled this research, originally intended as a bibliography of work done on Zygielbojm.

  6. Dachau Trial photographs

    Consists of photographs taken at the trial of forty members of the staff of the Dachau concentration camp (the Dachau Trial) by the United States Army Europe (USAREUR) Military Court from November 15 to December 13, 1945. Also includes copyprints of photographs of Vincent and Frank Donaghue, members of the United States army. Vincent was a member of the military police and was stationed at the Dachau trial.

    Metal shop sign with a wooden frame displayed in the window of Symcha Abramowicz's tailor shop in the ghetto in Warsaw, Poland. Germany invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, and occupied Warsaw on September 29. By November, the Germans had shut schools, confiscated Jewish-owned property, and conscripted Jewish men into forced labor. On October 12, 1940, the Germans forcibly relocated the Jews into a ghetto which was sealed off from the rest of the city by a guarded, ten foot, barbed wire topped wall.   9. Van Geuns family papers

    The papers document the Holocaust-era experiences of the van Geun family, originally of Rotterdam, Netherlands. Included are passports, identification cards, photographs, and a baby album. The baby album documents Marianne van Geuns' childhood and was compiled by her mother, Rozia Vreede van Geuns. The other photographs in the collection depict Marianne’s parents Rozia and Simon van Guens at the time of their wedding, Marianne’s birth, and various extended family members, most of whom perished in the Holocaust.

  10. Sam Kiss collection

    Contains photographs from the collection of Israel Kisnitzer (now known as Sam Kiss). Two of the photographs depict persons hanging from gallows; in one of the photographs a sign is shown describing the persons as German soldiers. Another photograph shows a close-up of piles of corpses near a train track. Mr Kisnitzer acquired these photographs after the war; the locations shown in the photographs is unknown.

    Consists of three issues of "Lendemains," a children's magazine published by OSE (Oeuvre de Secours Aux Enfants). Included are the Jul. 1946 (65 pages), March 1947 (65 pages), April 1947 (64 pages) issues. The magazine showcases poetry, stories, and articles about the war and the aftermath of liberation.

  12. "Blanka's Story" memoir

    Consists of memoir, 14 pages, entitled "Blanka's Story," describing the Holocaust experiences of Blanka Schuh, born in Dubrinic, Czechoslovakia. She and her family were deported in 1944, first to Uzhgorod and then to Auschwitz, where they were separated. She was sent to Latvia to work for the Wehrmacht, and was then transferred to the Stutthof concentration camp. She was liberated by the Russians and went to a displaced persons camp in Torino, Italy.     The collection includes two diaries written by Béla Weichherz for his daughter, Kitty Weichherz, in order to record the events of Kitty's life. The diaries begin in 1929, with Kitty's birth, and continue until 1942, when the Weichherz family was deported from C̆adca, Slovakia to a concentration camp. In the diary Béla makes note of daily events and tracks Kitty's development. Kitty also writes and draws in the diary.   16. Robert Mendler photographs

    Consists of 26 pre-war, wartime, and post-war photographs from the collection of Romek Reibeisen (now Robert Mendler), originally of Nowy Targ, Poland; includes pre-war family photographs and post-war photographs taken at a commemoration at the site of the Pocking concentration camp. Notable is a photograph of an elderly Jew holding an infant on which the caption reads "Like the old one, so the young"; this photograph was in the possession of a member of the SS.

  17. Sigmund Faye photographs

    Consists of photographs taken by Captain Sigmund Faye in Jun. and Jul. 1945, in the liberated Dachau and Buchenwald concentration camps. Photographs show Capt. Faye posing with survivors of the camp, and also include two official photographs taken by the "LAPI" of corpses. Also includes a photocopy of a "Beachhead News" newspaper article mentioning Capt.
