    The flyer is in both in French and in German. The identification card was issued in Amsterdam to Thea Sara Sluzker and stamped with a red "J;" no photograph; no issue date.

    Contains David Elentukh's handwritten memoir, in Russian. In the memoir, Mr. Elentukh describes his pre-war life in Minsk, being drafted into the military in 1941, and escaping to return to his family and move with them into the Minsk ghetto. Elentukh was transferred from the ghetto for forced labor in Minsk, escaped to return to the ghetto, and went into hiding in a cellar. After emerging from hiding, Elentukh and his family were rounded up and marched outside of Minsk to be shot.     The papers consist of a postcard sent by Berta Fried, a Hungarian Jewish deportee, from Auschwitz-Birkenau to a Christian cousin in Budapest, Hungary, dated May 28, 1944; a letter from Berta Fried in a hospital in Danzig, Germany, to her children after her liberation from Stutthof concentration camp dated April 1945; and two envelopes sent to Agata Fried in Mukacevo-Munkacs, Czechoslovakia (Mukacheve, Ukraine), by her mother, Berta Fried, in Danzig.

  7. Henrik Deutsch letter

    Letter from Henrik Deutsch to Gizella Deutsch Pienitz, his sister in the United States. Deutsch asks his sister for finanical help so that the family can emigrate from Budapest to the United States. The letter is in Hungarian and the Hungarian Tourist Board supplied the English translation.

    Contains a photocopy of Lotka Goldberg's typewritten memoir written in memory of her mother and describing life in the Rzeszowa, Poland, ghetto; the liquidation of the ghetto on September 3, 1943; deportation to Szebni work camp; her escape from the camp, her recapture and transfer to Płaszów concentration camp; a death march to Auschwitz; and her transfer to Bergen-Belsen where she was liberated by British troops on April 15, 1945.
