    Testimony, 3 pages, typescript, from Sagi, of Delray Beach, FL, but originally of Budapest. Describes deportation from Hungary to Auschwitz, and experiences there, and later deportation to Ravensbrueck.

  2. A memoir and photographs relating to Rabstein concentration camp

    Letter to USHMM from ex-POW (Donald Ebsch), relating his experiences and seeking to contact other former prisoners. Was imprisoned in a number of locations between Nov. 1944 and May 1945, but was seeking info about camp Rabstein, a subcamp of Flossenbürg, which had an underground aircraft factory, and from which Ebsch was liberated in May 1945. Includes photos of memorial site in 1993.

    The Erna Rettberg Bauer papers comprise documents assembled by Erna in pursuit of legal action to regain her family’s property. Many of the documents focus on Julius Rettberg and his relationship with Friedel Bredderman, the wife of Sturmabteilung Trooper, Paul Bredderman who was allegedly responsible for taking advantage of Julius and the Rettberg family.     Testimony, 19 pages, typescript; and letter, 2 pages, typescript, from Ellenberg, of Nashville, TN, describing his experiences as child in Mannheim, witnessing Kristallnacht, arrest and imprisonment at Dachau, being a forced laborer in Paderborn for 4 years, then deportation to Auschwitz.

    Testimony, 1 page, typewritten, 1994. Describes Klein's experiences in Hungary, 1944, with deportation to Auschwitz and then march to Melk (Austria) and Gunskirchen.

  13. A memoir relating to experiences in Belgian and French forced labor camps

    Testimony, photocopy of handwritten text, 16 pages. Describes experiences as forced laborer in Belgium and northern France, interment at Mechelen, deportation to Auschwitz, escape during evacuation of Jawischowitz (Jawiszowice), eventual capture by Russian forces and deportation to Soviet Union (Murmansk, Moscow), and return to Belgium after war.

    The "Linzer Wochenblatt" was self-identified as a Roman Catholic paper. The headline announces Chancellor Kurt Schussnigg's planned national referendum on achieving an "Anschluss" with Germany. The referendum was to be held on March 13, 1938.
