In the manuscript,Yisrael describes his childhood in Rome, Italy, and the experience of meeting his uncle David, who spent the war as a Hungarian Jewish prisoner in a Siberian prisoner of war camp. He describes David's experiences searching for any family members who survived the war, finding Yisrael's family, getting married and then being separated from them when the Iron Curtain fell over Hungary.     Contains seven photographs of Axel and Magna Metz and their son Steen in Denmark during the World War II in Denmark. Includes pre-war images of Steen, his parents, and paternal grandmother Betty. All were deported to Theresienstadt where Axel died in March 1944. The remaining family members were liberated in May 1945.

English describes helping a newly liberated prisoner to get new clothes and food in preparation for his return to Poland.

  14. Nachlass Hans Weyermann (1912-1985)

    Pertains to the activities of Hans Weyermann as the delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 1944 in Budapest. Includes material relating to the disappearance of Raoul Wallenberg. Weyermann remained in Budapest after the Soviet forces had driven out the Germans and he was one of few eyewitnesses who saw Wallenberg in 1945, shortly before his disappearance.
