  1. Henry Einstein collection

    Consists of depositions, interrogations, and evidence of the Office of the United States Chief of Counsel for War Crimes, Nuremberg Military Tribunals. The documents relate to alleged war criminals, information on atrocities and crimes, and the persecution of Jews, Poles, and other nationals by the Nazi regime. Also includes various legal opinions and decisions relating to several restitution and indemnification cases after the war.

  2. Edith Pick Lowy papers

    Contains a letter written by Edith Pick Lowy donor to her father while both were interned in the Buchenwald concentration camp, another letter written by Edith Pick from the Leipzig Hasag subcamp of Buchenwald to her father in the Buchenwald concentration camp in December 1944, and a photocopy of a copyrighted and unpublished memoir written by Edith Lowy titled, "My War Years: 1941-1945," which relates to her experiences and to the experiences of her family in hiding in Poland.

  3. Otto Menczer papers

    The papers consist of a letter and a postcard written by Otto Menczer from the Dachau concentration camp to his parents and brother in Vienna, Austria, and a passport issued to Otto Menczer in Vienna, Austria, after his release from the Dachau concentration camp.

  4. Der Antifaschist Stimme der Deutschen aus Dachau

    The manuscript periodical, entitled "Der Antifaschist: Stimme der Deutschen aus Dachau" was published by the Dachau Concentration Camp German Committee in 1945. The main contributor, Oskar Müller, describes the inmates' fears that the Nazis would liquidate the camp prior to the Allies' arrival. The front cover features a drawing of a man sweeping away swastikas with a broom.

  5. Harriet D. Schwartz papers

    Harriet D. Schwartz papers, spanning 1927 to 1939, consist of letters, envelopes, and photographs. Letters are written in Yiddish and German cursive, along with some English translations to family in New York City. Letters describe the difficulties of Jews living in occupied Europe. Letters also account for pleas from multiple family members requesting help with immigration to the United States; including a family arranged marriage to a cousin. Writings on the envelopes document which family member was requesting help. Photographs of the family document prewar life.

  6. Charlotte R. Hofbauer papers

    The collection consists of a passport issued to Charlotte Neumann Rapaport, partially used ration card issued to Gerti Neuman Agoston, prescription for medication written for Irma Stein Neuman, postcard requesting aid for Irma Stein, and draft of a letter requesting housing for Irma Stein Neuman.

  7. Wolfgang Mueller papers

    Letter written on the forced departure of a family from Neuhaus, Germany (1937), letter requesting assistance to obtain a visa to Cuba (1941), and a letter providing an eyewitness account of the Theresienstadt concentration camp (1946). All of the correspondence was written or received by the donor's relatives.

  8. Photograph of Dora Roth after liberation

    Photograph of Dora Roth, as a teenager, taken just after she was liberated from a concentration camp. Roth wears a striped jacket or coat and striped trousers.

  9. Holly Rumpler papers

    Consists of a letter written by Otto Frank to Holly Rumpler, describing the Frank family's life in hiding during the Holocaust; and the air mail envelope in which it was sent.

  10. Bertha Aronson collection

    The collection consists of a letter sent by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to Cyrus Adler, president of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, sending him a holiday greeting, December 23, 1939, and Cyrus’s reply by telegram on December 24. Roosevelt’s salutation incorrectly addresses Adler as a rabbi.   11. Jack LaPietra photograph collection

    The collection consists of sixteen photographs of Buchenwald concentration camp at liberation.

  12. Lisa Murik photograph collection

    The collection consists of four family photographs that include scenes from Łódź, Poland, beside a monument to martyrs of the Warsaw ghetto, a phototgraph of Edith Poliszuk and her brother Mark Zilist in Łódź, Poland, in 1945, a photograph of the community synagogue in Ostrug, Poland,before the war, and a family photogrpah of Tina Davis, Abraham Murik, Edmond Davis, Lisa Murik, and Ann Murik in 1945.

  13. Albert Newman collection

    A photograph of Chateau Viellesegure, attached to a page with handwritten song lyrics addressed to American soldiers that indicates when the soldiers leave they should "always remember those who work for Palestine."

  14. Le chancre qui a rongé la France

    Consists of a handbill entitled "Le chancre qui a rongé la France."

  15. Livret matricule

    The certificate identifies a militant in the Organisation Juive de Combat and was issued to all members who fought for the liberation of France.

  16. Rabbi Marc S. Sack photograph collection

    The collection consists of thirteen copy prints of Dachau concentration camp at liberation. Series shows camp architecture, corpses, liberated prisoners, and American soldiers.

  17. David Jakubowski papers

    The papers consist of documents and letters relating to Dr. David Jakubowski's time in the ghetto in Warsaw, Poland, where he was a physician before and during the uprising and also relating to his time of medical service with several refugee aid agencies after World War II.

  18. Frances Grün papers

    The papers consist of a Certificate of Discharge from Buchenwald concentration camp issued to "Jude Leopold Grün" (donor's brother); a letter written by William N. Fraleigh, American Vice Consul in Naples, Italy, to Leopold Grün regarding the German quota waiting list; and a letter written by the Grün children to their parents [envelope included with letter].

  19. Carl H. Knuemann photograph collection

    The collection consists of ten images of Carl H. Knuemann during and after World War II. Also included in the collection is an image of a former professor of Carl H. Knuemann, Dr. Steinhaeuser, and an image of Alboin Gunther, the sales director of the firm Kirst and Sons that supplied ovens to the Oranienburg concentration camp, and his family.
