Biographical History

The American Jewish Committee was founded in 1906 by American Jews, as a defense organisation in response to the pogroms in czarist Russia. The mission of the AJC was (and is) to strengthen human rights throughout the world. Its programs are international in scope and aim to reach across faiths.
