Collection of the Abteilung für besondere wirtschaftliche Angelegenheiten - Department for Special Financial Matters of the German Ministry of the Treasury, Hauptabteilung Wirtschaft, in the Netherlands, 1940-1945 The department was also called the Referat für besondere wirtschaftliche Angelegenheiten; the head of the department was Dr. Joachim Kessler, whose title was Der Sonderbeauftragte für wirtschaftliche Verflechtung (Supervisor over the Integration of the Dutch Economy with the Economy of Germany); his areas of work were the: exchange of stock portfolios between the Netherlands and Germany, and the issuing of permits for the purchase of Dutch companies by Germans, according to Law VO 58/41; appointment of the Verflechtung, German candidates for the establishment of German companies in the Netherlands; help by German bankers in the screening process, including Dr. P. Mojart, the Director General of the Deutsche Bank, who replaced Kessler in the administration of the Verflechtung in 1941; the Abteilung Feindvermogen - Department of Enemy Property was located in the same building in The Hague; both of the offices handled the Aryanization of the Dutch economy as of 1942; Included in the collection: Various documents regarding industry, commerce and Aryanization in the Netherlands during 1940-1942; correspondence between the Generalkommissar fuer Finanz und Wirtschaft (Finance and Economy Office) in The Hague and various factories in Germany that wanted to purchase stocks of factories in the Netherlands that had undergone Aryanization, or to be appointed as the Verwalter (Administrator) of the confiscated Jewish owned businesses in the Netherlands; most of the letters are addressed to Dr. Mojert, the Sonderbeauftragter fuer Wirtschaftliche Verflechtung (Special Supervisor over the Creation of Economic Cartels), to Lawyer Kramer of the Feindvermoegen (Enemy Funds Department), and to Dr. Bleick, the Gewerbliche Wirtschaft (Supervisor over the Industrial Economy Department); documents of the Generalkommissar fuer Finanz und Wirtschaft in The Hague, regarding the Lippmann, Rosenthal & Co.
