Notes from Shelly Rachel (Aronoff) Maslaton who submitted the material: Shelly Rachel (Aronoff) Maslaton, who submitted the material, was born in Sofia in 1937. Her parents were Mordechai Marcel, born in 1902, and Luisa, born in 1914, who were also born in Sofia. Mordechai was a spice merchant, who had seven siblings whose fate is unknown. All the members of the family were deported from Sofia, 27 May 1943; they returned to Sofia in 1944. The family made aliya to Israel in 1949.
