    Contains records created by the Reichspropagandaleitung, including propaganda leaflets, brochures, publication of war reports, political discussion of the situation in the USA, Winston Churchill, the war with Italy, propaganda in the East, advertisements for pro-Nazi companies, the role of the churches, measures in regard to foreigners, typhus, race defilement, swing dancers, Jews in the film industry, and prisoners of war.

  2. Selected records from collections of the Buzău branch of the Romanian National Archives

    Contains records concerning Jewish matters and the policy of local offices toward Jewish questions.The records were generated by the police of Buzău, the mayor of the town of Buzău, the legion of genarmerie of Buzău, the district prefecture of Râmnicu Sărat, the legion of gendarmerie of Râmnicu Sărat, and the mayor of Râmnicu Sărat. Includes also selected records from the Buzău regional office of the Centrala Evreilor in Romania the Central Office of Jews in Romania and the records of the Jewish community of Buzău.

  3. Report on Norwegian Resistance

    Consists of one report, 43 pages, presumably written in early 1945 by a German officer, regarding the history of the Norwegian resistance to the Nazis between 1940-1945. The report details the methods of resistance and gives specific examples of resistance activity.

  4. James Worley collection

    Consists of a description, written by James Worley, of the liberation of Dachau. Mr. Worley was a member of the 977th F.A. Brigade of the American Army. Also includes twelve poems, written by Mr. Worley, regarding the Holocaust; these poems were influenced by his experiences as a liberator.

  5. Romanian Jewish Council census list for men born in Bucharest

    Consists of one CD-ROM, containing a PDF file of census lists of men born in Bucharest, Romania between 1892-1921, compiled by the Romanian Jewish Council. The CD-ROM is labelled "Tabelee Barlilateor 1893(sic)-1921" and the file is labeled "Leeson Book."

  6. Sara Zyskind manuscript

    One unpublished manuscript titled "Sara Zyskind." The first few chapters of the third book by Sara Plager Zyskind, survivor of Łódź ghetto. Sara Zyskind was unable to finish her book about the lives of the young survivors in Łódź and their desires and efforts to reach Eretz Israel. The original was written in Hebrew and later translated into Polish.

  7. Ephraim Menaker photograph collection

    Collection of five photographic images depicting Ephraim Menaker and his family in Lvov, Poland before World War II. Ephraim Menaker was mobilized with the Russian Army in 1941 and remained in service until 1945. Most of his family was sent to the Lvov ghetto and from there to Belzec where they were killed

    Consists of one photograph album containing pre-war, wartime, and post-war photographs of the extended Kliger family, originally of Germany and Austria. Includes correspondence and documentation regarding Evelyn Kliger, who was sent to England on a Kindertransport in 1939, while her parents, Josef and Katherina Kliger, escaped from Vienna to Switzerland. Includes letters from Evelyn in England to her parents as well as correspondence to relief agencies after the war, as her parents sought to reunite with their daughter.     1942 map of Litzmannstadt (Łódź), Poland with an alphabetical street directory. The city had been occupied and annexed by Nazi Germany one week after the September 1, 1939, invasion. The Germans renamed the city Litzmannstadt, after the General Karl Litzmann, who had conquered the city during World War I. Łódź had the second largest Jewish population in Poland and, in February 1940, they were relocated to a small, closed ghetto.   15. Letter regarding the liberation of Flossenbürg

    Consists of one carbon copy of a letter (with draft) written by Richard Goldstein, a member of the American Armed Forces, to his family on April 30, 1945, after the liberation of the Flossenbürg concentration camp. Mr. Goldstein explains in great detail the condition of the camp and the prisoners and how much the experience had undoubtedly changed his life.

    Contains records relating to Jewish matters: the ban on performing one's profession; defilement of the race (Rassenschande); appreciation taxes for Jewish people; proof of Aryan ancestry; Jewish students, doctors and pharmacists; cancellation of driving licenses for Jewish people; and annulment of citizenship. Includes also information about Roma camps, organization of Gestapo, and small commercial matters like shops.

  19. Pocket watch with chain traded for food by a concentration camp inmate and recovered postwar

    Gold pocket watch with chain and engraved floral design traded by Ana Waldner for more food in the munitions factory where she was a forced laborer from 1942-1945. It had belonged to her husband, Chaim, and Ana hid it in the lining of her coat before he was deported from Krakow, Poland. After the war, Hannah tracked down the factory manager to ask for the return of the watch. She believes that he returned it due to fear of being found out and tried as a collaborator by the Russians.
