Abstract

Videotape testimony of Samuel R., who was born in Koszyce, Poland in 1923. In addition to information included in a previously recorded testimony (HVT-2670), Mr. H. recalls living in Łódź with his fellow escapee after its liberation; returning to Paris on the last transport of deportees in July 1945; reunion with his siblings; marriage to a fellow Resistant/survivor in 1946; his daughter's birth in 1949; various careers; continuing commitment to leftist causes; and he and his wife speaking at schools about their experiences. He discusses his nightmares resulting from the war years; reluctance to discuss his experiences for many years; the impact of their experiences on their daughter; and French collaborators.
