The ash can lid was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1993 by Samuel Kaufman.

Scope and Content

Lid from tin can used to house ashes of cremated victims. Samuel Kaufman obtained the lids while serving with the US 76th Infantry Division. He was present at Buchenwald after the liberation of the camp.
