Blue and gray striped cap issued as a uniform to Stephen Gotthelf in 1944 when he was a prisoner in Auschwitz concentration camp.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Coarse, stiff, blue and gray striped twill cloth brimless cap with a flat, circular crown and a wide panel sewn between the headband and crown to give the cap height and shape. There is black cord trim around the crown and a side seam. On the interior, the sides are lined with gray cloth and the headband and crown are lined with black cloth, with a diamond shaped seam and extra stitching in the crown, as ifattempting to quilt the cloth. The cap has been altered to make it fit better, with a vertical cut in the hatband and a tuck sewn into the back center.
