Acquisition

Marcelle Lipke donated the interviews with her mother Silvana Fabrizi and aunt Maria Puzzanghero to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in November 2022. As an accretion in December 2022 Marcelle Lipke donated an annotated transcript of the interviews.

Scope and Content

Marcelle Lipke authored and annotated two transcripts related to Silvana Fabrizi's World War II memories from San Donato Val di Comino in Italy. This document includes footnotes, references, biographies, maps, a timeline, and other commentary provided by Lipke in addition to a verbatim transcripts of two oral history interviews. The first oral history interview was recorded in Newtonville, MA on March 1, 1997 with Silvana Fabrizi and Maria Puzzanghero as interviewees. Marcelle Lipke, Paul Lipke, and Peter Puzzanghero acted as interviewers. The second interview transcribed and annotated in this document was recorded in West Newton, MA on February 13, 1999. Silvana Fabrizi was interviewed by Richard Seaman and Alan O'Hare with questions also by Marcelle and Paul Lipke. Marcelle Lipke is the daughter of Silvana Fabrizi and the neice of Maria Puzzanghero.
