The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Joan Finnegan in 2000.
Scope and Content
Consists of nine photographs, a photographic postcard, and six stereographic photographs acquired by, or depicting, Sergeant Francis J. McMullen, donor's father, who served with the 259th Field Artillery Battalion in the United States Army during World War II. The photographs depict Buchenwald concentration camp following liberation, ruins, a downed airplane, and post-surrender scenes in Grossalmerode, Germany. Also includes stereographic photographs from the publication "Der Kampf iim Westen."
