The postcard was sent by Emma Hartog-Moses to friends of a mixed marriage while she was interned in the ghetto in Terezín, Czechoslovakia. She was interned for three years in the Westerbork Camp and Theresienstadt Ghetto. Emma Hartog-Moses perished in the Holocaust. After World War II, the postcard was given to her daughter, Edith Mayer. Ms. Mayer donated the postcard to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum through the American Gathering/Federation of Jewish Holocaust Survivors in 1993.
Scope and Content
The pre-printed postcard is addressed to "Familie Badler" in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and thanks the addressee for the package. The postcard was sent by Emma Hartog-Moses to friends of a mixed marriage while she was interned in the ghetto in Terezín, Czechoslovakia.
