The materials were copied and compiled by Anton Fojn and donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives in Jan. 1987 with three other folders of materials relating to Roma. The four folders were treated as separate accessions, but were assigned the same accession number, 1987.007
Scope and Content
Consists of copies of name lists and other documents relating to Roma children living in the St. Josefspflege at Mulfingen, Germany, and their deportation to Auschwitz. Also included is a copy of a 1984 article by Johannes Meister titled "Schicksale der 'Zigeunerkinder' aus der St. Josefspflege in Mulfingen." The essay concerns the removal of Roma children from the St. Josefspflege orphanage and their deportation to camps where they were involved in "race hygiene" research conducted by Dr. Robert Ritter.
