Biographical History

Berta Rosenhein (later Berta Hertz) immigrated to England on a Kindertransport, residing in London during World War II. Her mother, Irma Baum Rosenhein, was deported to Rīga, Latvia, where she perished ca. Sept. 1944.

Acquisition

The questionnaire was completed by Walter Rosenhein for his daughter, Berta Hertz. Berta Hertz donated the material to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1994.

Scope and Content

The questionnaire ("Fragebogen") concerning Berta Rosenhein (later Berta Hertz) was completed by her father Walter Rosenhein in Leipzig, Germany, regarding foreign accommodations of children. In addition to parental names and addresses, the questionnaire requests the present earning potential of the father, the existence of possibilities for the emigration of the family, and the possibility of relatives living in a foreign country who could care for the child.
