Acquisition
Source of acquisition is the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej-Komisja Ścigania Zbrodni przeciwko Narodowi Polskiemu. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in Jan. 2020. This is a cooperative project based on the agreement between USHMM and Yad Vashem, Israel.
Scope and Content
Records relating to the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. Includes German reports, information on the situation among Polish fighters and civilians in Warsaw, interrogations of Home Army officers (Teofil Suscitowski, Ryszard Jankowski, Henryk Wilczkowiak, Józef Hoffman), and documents of Sonderkomando Spilker (photocopies from the German archives).
System of Arrangement
Arranged in four subject groups: 1. Reports of hearings, diaries, August-October, 1944; 2. Hearings of the Home Army officers in September 1944; 3. Reports by the Einsatzkommando ser Sicherheitspolizei bei der Kampfgruppe Reinefarth; 4. Sonderkommando Spilker- materials from the German archives regarding the Warsaw Uprising.
