Scope and Content
Gertrude Schneider, originally of Vienna, Austria, was deported with her family to the Riga Ghetto. On this January 26, 1985 recording, she sings several ghetto songs, including: "Moorsoldten" (tune, with variant German lyrics as performed in German ghetto), "Azoy mus zayn" (Latvian camp song, in Yiddish), "Tut tchinat gordon stalin" (Latvian ghetto song, in Russian), and "Ich hab kein Heimatland (fragment, in German).
