Acquisition
Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
Source of acquisition is the Russian State Military Archive (Rossiĭskiĭ gosudarstvennyĭ voennyĭ arkhiv), Osobyi Archive, Fond 1447. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in 1993, and accretion in 2004.
Scope and Content
Miscellaneous records of the German administrative and judicial agencies in the occupied territories of Poland and Soviet Union as well as edicts and orders of the occupied authorities on the structure of administrative services and degrees of jurisdiction, on economic and food issues, on establishing local institutions, on operating railroads, setting price controls, it also includes minutes of court sessions and investigative files. Consists of circular letters on evacuating Poles and Jews from the eastern territories of Germany and relocate them to the General Government, reports on execution of Jews in Grodno, correspondence on status of foreigners living in Mińsk Mazowiecki, a list of the Jewish foreigners registered in the city Rzeszów, Poland (German: Reichshof), documents on resettlement of Jews from Germany to Poland, establishment of the ghetto in Warsaw (Poland) and Lʹviv (Ukraine), and special zones for Jews in the number of regions in Poland and Galicia.
