National Archives of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in Nov. 2016.
Scope and Content
Records related to the evacuation of civilians to Kyrgyzstan during WWII. It includes information about resettlement, employment, food supplies and medical assistance provided by the local authorities to the evacuees and refugees resettled in Kyrgyzstan during WWII. This collection also includes lists of evacuees, statistical reports, correspondence, lists of evacuated communists, lists of evacuated Polish citizens and documents related to the repatriation of Polish refugees to Poland after WWII.
System of Arrangement
Arranged in six series: 1. General Division: 391 cases for 1937-1957; 2. Correspondence, letters of evacuees, reports, and lists of evacuees, 1941-1942; 3. Letters of evacuees, collective statements, 1943 (some 1942-1943); 4. Correspondence, letters, statements of Polish citizens of Jewish origin, list of evacuated professional and managerial workers in agriculture, 1943-1944; 5. Lists of evacuees from Ukraine, Latvia to Kyrgyzstan, and lists of Communists from Baltic countries, and Ukraine, 1937-1946; 6. Statistical Office of the Kyrgyz SSR: Correspondence, statistics, guidance and plans related to settlement and employment of evacuated people. List of orphans evacuated from the front, and various lists of evacuated Polish children, 1941-1957.
