Biographical History
The Katz Ehrenthal Collection is a collection of more than 900 objects depicting Jews and antisemitic and anti-Jewish propaganda from the medieval to the modern era, in Europe, Russia, and the United States. The collection was amassed by Peter Ehrenthal, a Romanian Holocaust survivor, to document the pervasive history of anti-Jewish hatred in Western art, politics and popular culture. It includes crude folk art as well as pieces created by Europe's finest craftsmen, prints and periodical illustrations, posters, paintings, decorative art, and toys and everyday household items decorated with depictions of stereotypical Jewish figures.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Offset color lithograph poster on paper with caricatures of 3 Jewish shopkeepers preparing food with disgusting ingredients and methods. The men wear yarmulkes, ragged, filthy clothing, and have thick eyebrows, big red ears, long, pointed noses, curly, black beards and sidelocks, and red blotches on their noses, ears, and cheeks. At the top a man in a black vest and white bloodstained shirt prepares to drop a rat in a meat grinder beside a tray labelled siekanina [hash.] In the center, a smiling man in a black shirt pours water from a pail labelled woda [water], into a milkcan labelled mleko [milk.] At the bottom, a frowning man with an open white shirt and rolled up pant leans on a table with 2 bread loaves labelled chleb [bread] as he kneads bugs into dough on the floor with his bare feet. To his right is a Polish poem. On the top left is Polish text over a white outlined Star of David. The background is light blue.
