Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements
Postage stamp made of paper, rectangular in shape with scalloped edges and approximately 2 inches (2.6cm) tall by 1 3/16 in (3 cm) wide in size. An inked rectangle with white image and inscription is found on one side. The ink is purple in color and the inked rectangle is smaller in size than the paper itself leaving an ink free boarder around the edge. An eagle standing on an encircled swastika is found in the center of image with in an oval. Above the eagle and within the oval “ZULASSUNGSMARKE” is written, while below the eagle and within the oval “DEUTSCHEFELDPOST” is written. Outside this oval and towards the postage stamp’s corners are four musical horns. The areas around these horns and outside the circle are decorated with horizontal stripes. On top of the purple image is an additional black ink stamp. The stamp extends past the area of the postage stamp on the top, right, and bottom edges. The visible sections of the stamp include a curved vertical line near the left edge of the postage stamp and three horizontal lines, one near the bottom edge of the postage stamp and the other two dividing the postage stamp into thirds. Above the top most horizontal line “CERTIFICADO” is stamped at the top edge of the postage stamp. Below “CERTIFICADO” and still above the top horizontal line is another line of characters which are partially unreadable. Between the top and middle horizontal lines and central on the postage stamp “1.5SEP.43.” is stamped. Between the middle and lower horizontal lines “LARACHE MARRUECOS” is stamped on two lines. Adhesive is found on the other side. The image from the other side is faintly seen in reverse on adhesive side.
