Selected court records from the Military Tribunal of Bucharest territory

Forms part of the Claims Conference International Holocaust Documentation Archive at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This archive consists of documentation whose reproduction and/or acquisition was made possible with funding from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Source of acquisition is the National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives (Consiliului National pentru Studierea Arhivelor Securitatii; CNSAS) in Romania. However records originate from the Archive of the Romanian Information Service (formerly called the Securitate; SRI). They were transferred to the Ministry of Justice, and kept in the Archives of the Military Courts (Arhiva Instantelor Militare) where they were under the dual subordination of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Defense. Later, records were transferred to the National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archives. Copies of cases were made after the transfer, and cases carry two numbers, the old number and the new CNSAS number. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the filmed collection from the National Council for the Study of the Securitate Archive via the United States Holocaust Museum International Archives Project in Nov. 2005.
