Biographical History
Mirko Tuma was born in Prague (Prague, Czech Republic). He was a survivor of Theresienstadt, His mother was also a Holocaust survivor, but his father perished at Auschwitz. Mirko immigrated to the Unites States as a political refugee in 1951. He was a published author of several plays and books of poetry.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Carol Lidz
Carol Lidz donated her former husband's collection to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on July 28, 2005. She added accretions in 2014 and 2017.
Scope and Content
Consists of material regarding the life and work of Mirko Tuma, a poet, playwright, and critic who survived the Theresienstadt ghetto. Includes photographs, program and script copies, a book entitled "Ghetto našich dnů" about Terezin, and a book of poetry entitled "Rust on a Weather Vane." Also includes newspaper clippings of his post-war theater career and articles about Terezin.
