The papers were donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Edward and Shara Kelley in 1998.
Scope and Content
The papers consist of 15 photographs taken by Ernest Henry (donor's father) of the liberation of Buchenwald concentration camp and of American military life in Europe during World War II and a seven-page letter written by an American soldier in the 257th Engineer Combat Battalion describing his experiences from November 1944 to June 1945, including his time spent at Dachau concentration camp after its liberation.
