Biographical History
The Rein sisters, Marta and Wanda, lived in Łódź, Poland, and together with their mother were imprisoned in the Łódź ghetto. Stella Rein, Marta and Wanda's mother, was a teacher before World War II and in the ghetto. Marta Rein died in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The collection was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2005 by Dr. Wanda Folman.
