Acquisition

The certificate was found in a book purchased by Aron Lutwak for his bookstore. Aron Lutwak donated the certificate to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 1992.

Scope and Content

Consists of one "certificate of adoption" is for Avraham Gruber, a child survivor from Poland living in a Vaad Hahatzala refugee home in France after World War II. The certificate, issued by Rescue Children, Inc. in New York, N.Y., acknowledges the support of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Bunim in Gruber's care.
