Biographical History
Wolf Percik, was a well established businessman in Sosnowiec, Poland and an owner of an office supplies and toy shop. He was also a member of the town's council and local business association. Wolf was a personal friend of author Shalom Aleichem, and one of the heroes of his story "The Fiddler on the Roof." Wolf was also painted by Polish painter and writer St.Wyspianski in a "Portrait in Blue." He died of natural causes during the first years of WWII.

Acquisition
The photograph was created by a studio photographer, Silver, in 1924 in Sosnowiec, Poland. It was donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum by Jerzy Ros in 1988.
Scope and Content
The photograph depicts the family of Wolf Percik. People in photograph (from viewer's left to right): (Standing) Rosalie Percik Lubawski, Zygmunt Percik, Dora Percik, Ludwik Lew Percik, Maximilian Percik, Henry Percik; (Seated) Stanislaw Lubawski, Irena Percik Rosenkrantz, Wolf Percik, Felicia Percik (donor's mother). Of the people pictured, only Irena Percik Rosenkrantz and Stanislaw Lubawski survived the Holocaust.
