Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

Offwhite paper banknote printed in green and red ink with green text. The face has a rectangle with a green linked chain border and a background of red and green latticework with a large 1 in the center. In the right upper and lower corners is the denomination 1. The serial number, B 11361350 in red ink is in the top center, above the text denomination, Eine rentenmark framed by a shield shaped flourish. In the bottom left corner is the denomination 1 in bold font, inside a white scalloped outline. There is an 0.875 inch right margin with the denomination 1 in the upper corner and a circular bank seal embossed in the lower corner. The back has a rectangle with a green and red border with latticework background. In each corner is the denomination 1 in bold font. There are 2 large, geometric patterned bands in the center: the left has a sheaf of wheat; the right has a bold 1 in the center, crossed by a banner with German text. Between the circles is a geometric floral shape. There is German text across the top and bottom center and an 0.875 inch left margin with the denomination 1 in the bottom corner over the embossed seal. There are 2 vertical lines of German text near the edge of the center rectangle.
