Acquisition
Source of acquisition is the Magdeburg Jewish Community, Magdeburg, Germany. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's International Programs Divisions acquired the microfilm from the Magdeburg Jewish Community in Germany in June 2001. The United States Holocaust Museum Archives received the microfilm in Aug. 2001. The entire collection was digitized in 2016.
Scope and Content
Contains postwar correspondence, including with other Jewish communities; lists of Jews; private papers of Israel Hersch; membership lists of the Jewish community; and a card file, presumably made by the Gestapo, of Jews in the Neu Stassfurt forced labor camp; photographs of the aftermath of Kristallnacht; and family photos.
