Source of acquisition is the Aussenstelle Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten (branch Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten) of the Bundesarchiv (Federal Archive) Berlin, Germany; Files: ZB 6764 Hefter 1: ZB 6672 A.7. Files containing the maps/drawings are a part of a collection compiled by the former East German state security service. They were originally generated by the (Zentral-) Bauletiung der Waffen-SS und Polizei and were kept by the SS-Wirtschaftsverwaltungshauptamt. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum received the filmed collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in 2008.

Restrictions on access. To access Bundesarchiv collections researchers must fill out a "Request for Access to Bundesarchiv Documents." German and English-language copies of the "Law on the Preservation and Use of Federal Archival Documents" are available at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives reference desk. The requirement was stipulated by the Bundesarchiv in the cooperative agreement signed with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
