Note(s)
Captain Felix Freeman (Friedheim) oversaw the hangings at Landsberg in May 1946 and can be seen clearly in this film footage. He had previously been a political prisoner at Lichtenberg, Ravensbruck, and Dachau, where the SS doctor Fritz Hintermeyer refused to treat him. Dr. Hintermeyer was one of the men he hung in 1946. Capt. Freeman described his experiences during World War II in the attached autobiographical essay.
