Eichmann Trial -- Session 108 -- Affidavits concerning Reich Security office and emigration

Session 108. Dr. Servatius reads the affidavit from witness Herbert Kappler, an Obersturmbahnfuehrer who was charged by Himmler to round up the Jews of Rome. Eventually the order extended to an unlimited area. Questions arise involving certain affidavits from there. The Judges consult for some time about whether or not to admit the affidavit and book of a lawyer from Holland, Mrs. van Taalinger-Dols. He was trying to get a meeting with Eichmann, but could not, and was delayed by the Swiss bank withholding payment. He learned that the head office of Reich Security was incompetent in matters of emigration, and only Himmler could do anything.
