French children receive gifts from Hebrew chaplain, Reims, France. Chaplain Hersh Livazer, Hq. Oise section, from 135 South 9th St. Brooklyn, N.Y. hands out the first package of candy to a group of French orphans at the local synagogue. This was part of the Hanukkah, Jewish holiday celebration. The presents are part of a regula PX roundup in Reims garrison area of candy donated by American soldiers and distributed by Army chaplains of the various faiths.
