The publication is the written version of a speech given by Prof. Dr. Ernst Mayer to the national liberal association in Würzburg. It gives a historic overview of antisemitism and the role of Jews throughout history. Mayer claims that the persecution of Jews resulted in cowardice, and he gives it as a reason for so-called Jewish characteristics.
