Scope and Content

Transcript of a lecture given for the “Deutsche Gesellschaft 1914”, on December 20th, 1915 by Walther Rathenau on German procurement of raw materials. He explains the difficult situation Germany and its allies are in, due to their geographic location. Germany only has access to three oceans that are like interior lakes and procurement is difficult. He describes his appointment to create a department for the procurement of raw materials in the ministry of war, its challenges and successes.
