The short text is a biography of David Oppenheim (1664- 1736). born in Worms, he became a well-respected rabbi who founded a school in Nikolsburg and lived many years in Prague, where he later became chief rabbi of Bohemia. He was renowned for his large collection of rare books. A short overview of the lives of his descendants concludes the biography.
