The pamphlet contains a sermon held at the synagogue in Berent on November 27th, 1880, by Rabbi Dr. Moritz Singer on the topic of “Wanderschaft Jakobs und Israels” (wanderings of Jakob and Israel). The proceeds of the sale of the publication will support the poor regardless of their confession. It emphasizes the restlessness of Jakob and of life itself, that constantly moves on and on, without finding a place to rest. Even God when he blesses Jakob in his dream tells him “I will protect you – wherever you will be going”.
