Scope and Content

The pamphlet contains a celebratory sermon held on the occasion of the 50. anniversary of the synagogue in Stuttgart on December 23rd, 1911 by Dr. Theodor Kroner. The sermon reflects on the meaning of congregation and assembly in a synagogue to worship and glorify God. The inner dwelling of God, schechinah, is explained. Further all the names a synagogue has been called in the past are discussed (Betel, Bet Elohim, Bet Adonai, Bet Mikdasch and Bet thefilla). The purpose of men is not to have to believe something but to be convinced in what one believes.
